Our show at Killoughternane Schoolhouse last night was another triumph in every respect. We had a full house of very appreciative listeners, and they loved our Music, and bought wagon-loads of both the new Album, Working On Love, and the previous release, Onwards and Upwards.
The success of the night was, in no small measure, due to the drive and determination of Jim Quirke and his Committee, who left no stone unturned to make sure that everyone in the general Carlow area knew about the event. It's also strongly rumoured that we will be playing an open-air Festival event at Killoughternane during the Summer, with a whole bunch of great Artists, probably in early July, so keep your eyes peeled for details on our website.
Thanks also to Sue Nunn and her team at KCLR who invited me on her show yesterday to talk about the Killoughternane gig and aslo to sing a few of my new songs. We got a great reaction to a couple of those, and they are on my new CD, Working On Love, which will be officially launched on St.Valentine's Day, 2015. Thanks also to our intrepid merchandise man, Jack Mahon, who did his usual great job on the sales end.
The guys in the Band, Richie Foley, Johnny Gleeson and Dick Gladney all played a storm last night. Well done, Men, and here's to the Tour in 2015, beginning with the Sixmilebridge Winter Weekend in January.
PS. I'm delighted to say that I'll be back on RTE Radio One shortly, on Saturdasy the 6th of December at 11pm, with my Roots Freeway show, featuring lots of great new Roots Music from all over .....Tune in, and enjoy !
