Niall Toner formed his Acoustic String Band in 2001, and since that time they have released four all-original Albums, and toured all over the World. Now, in October 2014, Niall has just returned from Nashville, Tennessee, where he has recorded Album number five, provisionally titled WORKING ON LOVE, another all-original project, this time comprising many love songs and tunes inspired by life in the foothills of the Blackstairs Mountains of County Carlow. Probable release date will be St.Valentine's Day, 2015, but rumour has it that advance copies will be available for the lucky few at live shows before then !
One such show will be at the Killoughternane Schoolhouse on Friday the 21st of November. This is the Niall Toner Band's favourite venue, and all their previous shows there have had the 'house full' signs up, long before the actual events, so book your tickets early !

One of the features of the Niall Toner Band over the past few years has been the introduction of many fine Musicians to the line-up, and 2014/15 sees that philosophy continue with the addition of the multi-talented Johnny Gleeson, a Carlow native, on Dobro Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals. Another major addition is that of Mandolin Virtuoso, Richie Foley, who hails from Youghal, in County Cork. Richie has toured extensively with Niall, and earlier this year appeared as part of Niall's Band at the World Famous MERLEFEST in North Carolina. Dick Gladney, andother Carlow native, still holds down his position as Bass Man Supreme, and the Killoughternane concert will feature the new line-up.
This is all-original Bluegrass/Country/Roots Music from the Blackstairs Mountains !
